Alright im looking to get a new flywheel and clutch combo b/c my current setup sucks. I want a Fidanza flywheel and an ACT street/strip combo. Im planning on about 300rwhp so I know they'll hold. Anyone have experince with these? Please post opinions. Thanks

Be gentle with your new clutch. Stay out of the boost for at least the first 1000 miles. It's really easy to glaze a new clutch with a lightweight flywheel.

I'm weary of aluminum MULTIPIECE flywheels. Aluminum is too soft to me. The screws holding the friction face on might loosen up during heating and cooling of the aluminum due to expansion and vibration. That is why I went with my Toda flywheel and I like it. Whatever you do, DO NOT GET A SPEC CLUTCH. I hate mine. It chatters, randomly changes its engagement spot, and slips extremely after it is heated from a couple of drag runs. I have the Spec II by the way. As for the Toda flywheel, the engine revs pretty quick with it (rev matching during downshifts is a simple and quick task if road racing). It is also a one piece chromoly steel flywheel, which has no pieces to rattle off it. The ONLY thing I like about the aluminum flywheels are that they would cool after abuse faster.

What sort of material is the Spec-II clutch made out of?

Now that I have it properly broken in, I'm really liking my ClutchMasters clutch. It still chatters going into first when it's cold. Other than that, it's a champ and very easy to drive in traffic.

The Spec II is a full face kevlar disc. It is junk and over rated on it's torque handling. I am moving to ACT next.

I can back Gen Spec II sucks. Mine slipped after less than 5,500 miles. I have a JUN flywheel. It's cromolly and i love it! I just swapped my Spec for an ACT HDR6. It's sooooo much better.

All i can say is they all are kindof hard to get on the pins. You usually have to pull it on with the bolts. No biggie though. I've had spec AND ACT on my flywheel with no problems.

How many miles did you drive before giving it boost? It's really easy to glaze a kevlar clutch, especially with a lightweight flywheel. I've seen properly broken in kevlar clutches take 1200+ hp. That being said, I almost roasted mine with 2.0L and 8psi.
