I'm putting a clutch in and I inserted the pilot bearing but now my alignment tool won't fit in it. I hammered it in but it's brass. Are they directional or did I damage it. Not sure what I should do.

What did you use to set the pilot bearing in place? Possibly smashed the top in slightly so the alignment tool doesn't fit the bore of the bearing anymore. Might pull it out and see if you can get the bearing to slide over the tool.

new pilot bearings are cheap. id go to a parts store and buy one specifically for the 240sx.
when i buy spec clutches i always have to go buy a stock pilot bearing because the spec one is too small.
