ok, so I got my car started with a nice clean rebuilt ka24e and I did a manual swap while I was at it. About 3 months of hard work, and now i have just one last problem...

I let go of the clutch pedal while driving and it doesnt fully engage the clutch. There is some play in the pedal and when I pull the pedal up with my foot, it fully engages the clutch.

Any ideas? Any at all?

bump, anyone? I have tried to adjust the pedal, would a bad master cylinder do this? The master Cylinder leaks a little I think, well the boot is wet. I also might be thinking that the throwout bearing housing is sticking on the input shaft. I got a new slave and new clutch line and bled the **** out of it. Like I said there is play like there is supposed to be on the pedal. Anyone have any other ideas on what it could be. It seems like the throwout bearing rides on my pressure plate and doesnt fully release. I can make it release with my hand. Is my clutch bad? Its brand new.

If your master cylinder is leaking then it needs to be replaced. They hydralic lines run if there is good pressure. If you press down the pedal and some leaks around your piston in your master cylinder it wont grip right.

would it make it disengage towards the very top of the pedal?

If the clutch pedal will not come up by itself, then the clutch pedal assist spring located at the top of the clutch pedal lever may be broken.

it comes back up by itself, but it disengages when I press it only a couple of centimeters.

I had my throwout bearing seize and break the inputshaft housing, but what you're describing doesn't sound like how mine acted prior to the breakage. What you descrobe sounds like a bad slave, or a bad bleed job. If you're using the clutch damper, you really need to pull a vacuum off the bleeder valve on the damper itself; you can pump the pedal all you want and bleed it, but you will never get all the air out that way. But, since you say you think your master cylinder is leaking, i'd start there.

Have someone get under the car while you pump the pedal and visually check the slave; make sure it's moving correctly and pivoting as it should. Just lots of troubleshooting to do.

my ca did this for awhile.my master cylinder leaks a wee bit but nothing terrible...i could just press the clutch pedal down with my pinky toe to shift it was horrible. i changed the clutch and now all is well. put a centerforce in and now the clutch springs up perfectly and now no problems. if u can, check and see how well the pressure plate is. mine was shot to ****

Change out the mc, rebleed and adjust the pedal.
