I did a 93 convert trans swap. Everything went well, but one thing. When I adjust the set screws to adjust clutch pedal engagement/travel, one quarter turn of the rod, makes the cluch have 2" of loose free play, the other way it is engaging way up at the top. When like this it heats up on rides and then slips real bad. I replaced the master clutch cylinder to no avail. I just ordered steel braided clutch cable to go down by Slave because that cable is the old original from parts car. Do you think this will do the trick, or am I missing something???

Don't drive the car with it slipping, unless you want to replace the clutch again!

It's not the adjustment rod. Did you put a dampener circuit in? If you did take it out. You did use a new slave yes?

I went round and round with my clutch readjusting multiple times, with a new master and slave. I finally replaced the braided line near the slave and yanked the dampener. Works great now.

Yea replace the braided line, and bleed it several times.

I think they put a new slave in. But not sure about the dampener. What does it look like and if it is still there, when I replace the line what should I do? A dampener circuit??

The clutch line comes down to either the dampener (a box with a hydraulic loop on it) or directly to the slave cylinder. There is a valve in the dampener box that gets gummed up, get rid of it if you have it.

Then bleed the system a LOT until it works right.
