YES! Wait.... you have an '89. It will NOT work in an S14. I think this will work in an S13 tho. Can someone verify this?

you can always send it in towww.mckinneymotorsports.com/ and they will change your speedo to 180mph and reprogram your tach

S14 people can use their clusters as is. You need to use the speed sensor from the KA and calibrate the tach, but then it works fine.

I have the S14 with RB20, and I'm tellin YOU that it works. Read the forum. Lots of people have done it, and the tach works fine after calibration. If you want a speedo to 180 mph, then that's another thing, but for a stock setup, KA cluster works fine.

Does it involve an AVR or PIC? I had one designed, but after measuring and finding out that the signal to the tach is just variable duty cycle (the inverted dwell signal), I decided that tachs are waaay to easy to make and that using the pot on the back of the tach or a very, very simple 2/3 voltage divider had to work at least as well as any MCU solution. Heck, Nissan even helps out by increasing the dwell when the battery voltage is low so you don't have to compensate for voltage variations. Just buffer and lowpass the inverted dwell signal at about 10 Hz and put it through an ammeter.
