CLUSTER LIGHTUP PROBLEM!!!

does the ILL+ have anything to do with the cluster lighting up? if so if the harness for the stereo was cut then i would have to figure out which wire that is and reconnect it correct?

Yes the cluster lights are on the same Illumination path....it will affect it.Check your stereo wiring....make sure you are not shorting any wires in there.....

and heres a link with the wires that are directly on the stereo harness. http://www.bagotronix.com/nissan_240sx_stereo.pdf. ok so since i have this wire guide. how do i know what i need to connect together. the illumination wires have both been cut (the - and the +).

ok...so i was messing with the 2 wires it says that are the illumination wires...and it still doesnt light up....do i need to connect the 2 halves of each the + and - of the illumination wires? connect matching pairs that is. and since it still doesnt light up what do i check next?

Yo, these wires (illumination) dont need to be connected (if you dont want to ...) but if they are you need to make sure they are correct. In other words...lets find out if the radio or wiring is the problem you are having. It sounds like you are missing the plugs in your car audio wiring...if yes, just disconnect everything and make SURE no wires are touching at all. Turn car on, check your cluster for any signs of lights. Are missing cluster lights....???? Then the problem is somewhere else. If you have a plug in your car audio wiring harness then all you do is disconnect radio and follow the same steps already mentioned. Remember to disconnect the negative terminal when playing or disconnecting wires.......or you will burn fuses. If you are still missing lights on your cluster then need to check the cluster itself or your brake lights....Yes if you dont have brake lights, your cluster lights would not come on. But you very seldom see this....

ok...as i said earlier the harness was CUT...so i dont know if they were on the original plug or not. i have nothing to compare it to. and the brake lights work (i just checked). i do know my reverse lights dont come on when i go into reverse. could this have any effect??? i have checked all fuses and they are all fine. any other help would be usefull. i will check the bulbs tomorrow when its light out and hopefully not raining.
