When I bought this 92 240 all the electrics worked, minus a couple of bugs due to some crappy splices for an old after market alarm. Now the wiper cluster and the climate controls are out. I have checked the fuse on the radio circuit it is not blown. I'm thinking short somewhere, but don't know where to look without taking the dash out and start playing with wires. Also I have pulled FSM but don't really understand what I'm looking at yet.
Could someone point me in the right direction?

It is real easy to pop the radio trim surround off - just gently pull straight up on it towards the dome light starting by the shifter end. Then there are only 4 screws holding the radio bracket in, unscrew them and you can slide the whole radio and pocket out with all the wires still attached.

I would try unplugging the radio harness if possible, see if that changes the problem. Then start looking for bare wires, pulled off wire nuts, black tape that is coming off, or wires that got pinched and might be shorted where you cant see.

If that does not help, try taking the cover off under the steering column - also easy, 6 screws. Then look for the alarm wiring (big white plugs with thick wires) and do the same checking for bare wires or anything that looks damaged.

I had one S13 with a short behind the radio and it took out the parking/running lights, the entire dash illumination and some other random stuff.

Good luck!
