I have a 1999 Q45t and whenever I go over even a little bump I get this clunking sound comming from the front end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Open the hood and push the car up and down fairly aggressively while observing the tops of the strut mounts. There ought to be no movement. If you can see the strut moving around then the mount is suspect.

And welcome to NICO!

You don't recite mileage nor maintenance history, but I bet it is that time to R&R your suspension.

Also, it could be your stabilizer bar links. Check those also. I changed out my driver's side a month back. It was causing the clunk noise when you hit a bump.

Howso Nightrider? What was the issue? I also have this clunking sound, after just rehabbing my whole suspension.

I get no movement on the strut mounts. I was thinking stabilizer bar links. I'm headed to the driveway now to change my oil, I'll have a look.

Thanks for the tip I will give it a try. By the way the car has 119k miles and I have done no suspension work since I got the car 4 years ago with 79k miles. Any further advice will be very helpful. Thanks

Nice ride man! If I only waited one more year lol! Anyway, I thought it was my suspension also because I knew it wasn't my strut mount because I already changed it. I took it to the mechanic and after the car was in the air, he then pointed out the bad stabilizer bar link. It wasn't stable at all and you could shake it. Then that's where you could hear the noise. After he fixed it, I didn't hear the noise again. Now....I have the same noise on the passagenger side now. I'm going to check the strut mount first, then look at the stabilizer link.

The rubber stuff it shot, I had the same problem and it was the torsion bars that had gone bad. Since I'm not a DIY'er I bought the new bars as it was about a break even between the more expensive part or the additional labor to just change the rubbber part. Made HUGE difference in the handling of the car too, way tigher. Do them both at once regardless but I bet this is your issue.
