Clunking noise while shifting gears

I have 2016 Sentra 6 speed Manuel with 12000 miles. A while ago,i started to hear clunking noise every time I shift gear. Noise coming from bottom front left toward transmission by the left tire. I have not had the time to take to the dealer yet. But I am woundering if this is significant. The noise sounds like mechanical clunking that's audible from inside and outside the car. If anyone has an input plz share

I don't know, maybe the throw out bearing assembly is worn prematurely or maybe the gear selector is out of sync. You seem to have a rather new car. I'd take it to the dealership and have them test drive it to reproduce the issue. They can help you decide where to go from there.

If it was older, I'd say drop the transmission and look around, but yours is very new and that's a lot of work and I suspect it could be warranty covered (even though clutch is a wear item, like brake pads). Ooh, maybe check the oil level before you go there (the transmission oil of course).

Thank you so much for the follow up. Took it to the dealer and they replicated the noise. It turned out that the Axel was loose. (I have no idea how). The though of it was good enough for me to trade it in and get me another car. However, when I purchased it, I was given limited lifetime warranty on power train. I read it and it pretty much cover just about anything internally. Do I guess I will be keeping for at least 10 years.

I don't understand, did you trade your car in or keep it and tighten the axle? I'm glad the dealership could replicate the issue.
