I installed coilovers on my S13 about a month ago, and in the past 2 weeks, I've developed a clunking noise when I come to a stop, either slow or fast. I crawled under the car this past weekend and rechecked the tq on all the bolts and they were all fine, and I checked to make sure the perches were still tight and they were. The camber plates are tight also.

I tried to move parts with my hand to see if anything made noise or movement, but nothing did.

What possible causes could I have for this noise that I should check for? I know the car has 150,000 so is this possibly a bushing, or tie rod end?

Have you replaced your inner/outer tie rods lately? T/C rods will usually clunk in turns. Could be that all of them need to be replaced.

check the top pillowball bolt. the big one in the middle at the top, see if that is tight.

My coils have a dampener adjuster in the middle of the upper, or am I thinking of the wrong upper?

Another possibility: brake pads shifting?

Z32 brakes have been on for 5 months or so, still have plenty of pad, and haven't been touched. I don't hear the noise around corners, just coming to a stop or changing momentum.

thre should still be a big a** nut at the top that holds the upper mount to the strut rod. check to see if that is tight.

The nut is tight, I checked this morning since I could do it without jacking up the car.

So.... Could this possibly be caused by tierod ends or ruined Tension rod bushings?
