Noises in the rear are sorta hard to diagnose from an internet perspective. I'm familiar with the different kinds of knocks, bumps, pings, and other noises that come from the back of a 240.
However, the main problem I have for your case, Pills, is that when you hit a bump you are compressing everything in the rear, shock, spring, subframe, control arm bushings, differential bushings, etc. and in the ever aging 240, there usually is alot of old worn out componentry that can cause such a noise.
So honestly I have to rely on your personal best judgement. By that I mean, I can't guarantee these are a "fix-all" product. I don't want to confuse anyone into thinking that, the best method is to have a look under the car yourself and ask more questions, email them to me if you wish and I'll give a best guess possible. The last thing I wanna do is sell someone something they don't need or want.
In conclusion, the spacers aren't a bushing replacement they are a bushing upgrade. I mean this in the fact that if you look at your subframe mounting locations you'll see gaps where the bushings are. These collars slide into those gaps and compress the stock rubber bushing making it act much more solid. It's an upgrade worthy on it's own right and it is quite pronounced, I'd rate it better than a rear strut bar in terms of feel and it does help to reduce wheel hop by a fair amount I must add.
