I get this horrible clunk when I press the brakes when coming to a stop, I'm sure it's not the brakes themselves because I can park the car and press the brakes all day without a sound (on of course).

I just replaced tie rod ends and the steering rack a month ago, and this issue just came up a week ago or so ago. Also, a side note, if I press down on the front driver side of the car (depressing the shock) there's a loud schreeching noise, like dragging a nail across a chalkboard, I can't think of the word to describe it, but it's like the noise from Grand Theft Auto when you get a hooker and the car bounces, except mine's worlds worse.. Front shocks are new by the way..

sounds like you should check ball joints, tie rod ends .as far as you compressing the spring and hearing a sound it depends what setup you have but it sounds like either your shock is drie or scraping the umprella. or just some spring noise i have heard that noise if your spring is not sitting in the seat right
hope this helps

Look at your tension rod bushings. Are they destroyed? Mine does the same thing, and I can jiggle my tension rods by hand.

It's your T/C rods.
