i posted this on a previous thread i thought it wold fit better here, i have a 93 j30T. with 130k i bought it with 127k. i just replaced the front shocks. i noticed the smoother ride, but i still feel and hear the same "CLUNK" that i heard be fore i changed the skocks. i want to know if it could be my springs, or my control arm bushing. but whatever it is it sounds like metal hitting. can anyone help me out?

Sounds like it could be any rubber bushing. Most likey its ball joints not holding the spindle down all the way, also could be a wheel bearing, control arm bushings, sway bar bushing... anything.

Jack it up and grab the wheel and feel for loosness. grab it at 12 and 6 and rock back and forth and if you feel movement its your ball joints. 10 and 4 is a wheel bearing. 3 and 9 could be inner or outer tie rods or even a rack and pinion. You have to have someone crawl under and look at where the slop is.-Alex

Cool let me know how things go, you'll probably just need shocks or balls joints nothing big.-Alex

The shocks are new, but I hope it is just the ball joints.
