hmm..the video of me turning is actually deeper in person but still...so its just a straight up thunk..no creeking whatsoever? and i dont think the CV's are to hard to fix.. maybe to expensive to have a mechanic do it but if your at all mechanically inclined i bet you could do it with a Haynes manual and saturday morning.

i say no coz i dont wana have to pay them for it!

in saying that a mechanic is doing my right cv boot today because it had split or something and previous owners only fixed it with a universal joint

oh well...it needed to be done sometime i guess

they're also replacing all my belts and degreasing the engine because it has a small oil leak and over time it spreads through the whole engine and apparently is corrupting the belts...which makes the alternator belt squeak which is why its in the shop in the first place to just replace the belt...

fellas...i'm not very mechanicaly inclined but a belt is a 5 min job in your driveway, cv shaft is not too bad either - did one ona a subaru and needed a pickle fork so check if you need any special tools.

as for the "clunk" - probably the wheel hitting a stop put in so you can't turn the wheel too far - adjustable btw.

but that's just my 5 cents...might be wrong

one more thing. degreasing the engine - you can do that yourself at any self serve car wash - maybe $2 - and the oil doesn't "corrupt" belts, just makes them slick so they slip a little and squeal.
