Post

Humble new guy posting for the first time. I just bought a black Altima Coupe 2.5 S. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford anything but the base model. And no mods yet. But I hope to learn as much as I can from you all.

First and foremost, I love my car. I think it's gorgeous. I paid for the after market paint treatment and through my dealership in Maryland, I get free oil changes and car washes. I love the car wash, although I've only been once since I bought the car 5 days ago. I actually tried washing it myself but I'm frustrated because there are still faint streaks and smudges all over it. You can't tell from a distance, but I know that the smudges are there and it's driving me crazy.

Maybe I'm a moron and don't know how to do something as simple as wash a car. But being that it's a black car, it's so gorgeous when it's nice and shiny. Nothing beats it.

I don't plan on washing it myself ever again. That is, unless you good people have recommendations on products and techniques. I picked up a tip here about using Invisible Glass on the windows. It's great, thanks!

I also bought one of those lambs wool mitts. I figured out that the softer I rub, the more likely the smudges will go away. Rubbing hard makes more streaks. Okay, now I really sound like a moron.

Anyway, this is my first nice car. I'm pretty much a novice. Be kind.

I've never found a way to keep the hairline swirls from appearing except fora buffer. Even harder on dark colors.

congrats on the new car, you chose the right color, welcome to the forums, and i would recommend all of the "ICE" products by turtle wax, ive used tons of cleaning products over the years, and ICE is by far one of the best

Yea, the ICE stuff are biodegradable for all the tree-hugggers and global warming hippies like me! Great stuff, though.

Check it out.. get yourself 2 5-gal buckets ($10), and 2 "grit-guards" for em($20)... and a nice sheepskin mitt($5).

Then get yourself some nice car wash stuff, i use NXT's products. (find em in pep boys, the big bottle of wash will be like $5)

Then all you need is some nice MF (microfiber towels) to dry her down with, or if you are so inclined... get a leaf blower (12hp+ for like $50).

Once you get the materials, or if any one else requests it, ill detail you on the 2 bucket method.

Welcome!

I use a Mircofiber mit to wash. I also use Maguires products, RainX and Invisible Glass... Rainx + Invisible Glass FTW!

Hay LBC do you order your Grit-Guards online, or are there any stores that carry them.

I don't like the ICE stuff, I prefer this stuff http://www.oznium.com/car-careMade my car look a lot better than ICE did.
