I just got my 08 350z and its sick! I know its not a winter car but there isnt any snow on the ground yet and i cant just wait until spring so....I drove it! i have 223 miles on it now and when i got home i noticed this spinning, rattle when it was in neutral! the noise wasn't prominent, but it was there, just enough to piss me off ya know? I noticed it went away when i put the clutch in too! so i made an appt. with the dealer...meantime i went out and started it. The noise was gone! i let the car warm up to normal, it still wasnt there! i read in another forum it wasnt the clutch at all, but that it was the heater core?!! i dont believe z's should be driven in the winter anyway but i wonder if i will have this problem again in warm weather? anyone know what the hell is going on?Z's rule!

ya bro the sound is annoying especially when it comes from a new car.. for me the sound stops also when the car is warming up after a cold starts... is that what you were hearing? usually when the rpms drop back down you can hear it again.. lemme know what the dealer says about it.. cause mine said it was the throw out bearing and nothing could be done... someone else said it was the heater core, how it makes that sound i have no idea, so if you have an explaination for that also lemme know cause the sound is something i just learned to deal with, but i'd really like to get rid of it though. The Z is great in the winter... it's the snow that's a problem...

everyone, dealers included, says it is normal because it is the dual mass throw out bearing! it makes sense after you think about it. after all there is 6 gears rolling around in there just waiting for you to choose one of them!!!
