Hey guys.

So I just replaced the master cylinder, and the slave on my 89 coupe's clutch... I decided to make life easy, and bypassed the dampener like everyone seems to be doing. Bent the line no problem, everything hooked right up.... life looked grand.

NOW... I have no pressure in my pedal, and the master doesn't seem to be pumping.

My guess is, I should have bench bled the master cylinder before... but even with searching, I couldn't find out for certain if that was nessicary. Should I have done that? do I need to bleed the slave too?

Any input is appreciated, thanks

You need to bleed the entire system. Open the bleed nipple on the slave while a friend pushes down on the pedal closing before you get air back into the line. Pull teh pedal back up and repeat. Keep doing that over and over, checking the master fluid level and topping it off. No need to bench bleed.

I can send you the manual pages for this via email, just skip the part about bleeding the second nipple.
