Cloth interior, durability issues?

I have an 11 month old couple with charcoal cloth interior and am already noticing wear on the interior. The dye seems to be rubbing off on both the driver's side door armrest, and the center console rest, getting somewhat faded already. Yes, I probably tend to rest my elbows there when driving, but isn't that sort of what they are there for?

This is also happening right on the seam present on the left bolster of the seat, which is also starting to fray a bit. Why they have a completely unnecessary seam in the middle of a high wear panel like that, I've no idea. Yes, I'm sure my butt tends to rub that bolster on the way in, but my 160lb self really shouldn't need to pay attention not to unduly touch things on the way in, I'm thinking.

Anyone else notice the same?

Mine, almost 2 years now and no issues! Maybe that's dirt rub it with clean microfiber wet cloth.

I've had mine for 1 year and 7 months and my cloth seats are still holding up beautifully.

And unlike both of you that are having problems, I'm a really big boy. The only problem I can even describe as a 'problem' is the center arm rest, but it's just dirty. Hasn't faded or anything that you've described.

I've had mine a year and 3 months or so and the only discoloring problem I have is from getting deoderant all over the side of my seat when I reach back to grab stuff out of the back seat, haha. (and that can be cleaned!)

IDK why yours are wearing, but try some of that fabric cleaner stuff that has like a brush as the nozel that you can get at the auto store and see if it's actually faded/losing dye or just dirty

I'm pretty sure they would consider that normal wear and tear unfortunately. If its that bad its worth a shot to try though I suppose.

For this very reason, I am happy that my dealership offered me an aftermarket warranty on all of my interior. For $300 (which I found reasonable), as long as I own my car, if any leather wears, fades, cracks, etc, they will replace it for free. (and yes I have it in writing)
