has anyone ever removed them and modifed them? i was reading the diy on here and i come to realize they dont just peel off like the others i seen.

Yeah, they are different than the coupe/fastback door panels. The inserts are a separate piece stapled on to the door panel from the back. On mine, the upholstery was stuck on pretty good, too.

You need to pop off the staples, remove the insert, and then pull of the upholstery.

Pop off the staples from the back? Is just plain ripping the insert off too damaging?

(And I'm still probably gonna want to buy your panels Mike...crack or no crack, it's better than mine.)

You still need to put new fabric on, so the inserts have to come out either way.

You can have my old panels for free, Loki. I'll email you after Easter letting you know how the conversion went.

yea i tried that **** is hard to get off its stuck on good
