closing the hood?

Hey everyone,

You guys are awesome. So far all the questions I post are answered really well. I'm sure it's simple but for some reason i can't close the hood of the car properly. I let the hood drop and it never locks. If anyone can help, it would be hugely appreciated.

I always drop it by hand so the release mech engages, then press down to close.
