Closing rear hatch manually?

I didn't see anything in the manual on it, but can you close the rear hatch manually without turning the power off on the switch? You know, sometimes you just want to close the hatch without having it do it automatically. make sense? wondering if you are doing any damage by manually closing it to the motor.

Yes you can, it will not hurt the motor or components.
