To give a bit of background, I've had a rather violent shimmy of the steering wheel from 45mph and up. I started with the obvious: alignment, replacing front tires, and checking the wheels for any imperfections. After continuing to have the shimmy, although much abated from the above work, I had my shop perform a thorough inspection of the front suspension. They are telling me that I need to replace my strut rod bushings and also my steering rack mounts.
I'm assuming the strut rod bushings they are referring to are the stabilizer bushings? I do know its about time to go through my entire suspension since the car has 130k, however, this car isn't my daily and I'm mostly interested in ridding the car of the shimmy for right now. Are these bushings something that will help rid the car of the shimmy or should I take a trip to the dealer?
The car is an FGY33
