Hey, here's a good one. I did a search and all I found was this thread which didn't answer anything

So I blew the engine in my '92 KA24 a few years ago. I bought a '91 for the engine and parts. The blown engine has been attributed to loosing all the oil. (long story) My swap ran (with about 150k mi) great for about 3k mi. The valve cover gasket is leaking oil into the spark plug wells, so I redid it. It still leaks a bit into the #1 plug well. When it started running on 3 cyl I immediately suspected shorted ignition. I played with it for an hour and concluded the plug was firing just fine despite the oil.
So engines need air spark and fuel, I can only assume cyl #1 is getting air, it seems to be getting spark, and the other 3 are firing, so bad injector? I pulled it and looked at the connections, no green death so I swapped an injector with the blown engine. (the '92) This ran fine after a few seconds so I figured it was fixed. The old injector seemed to be pulsing, so I can only assume it was clogged. I wanted to change the fuel filter before I ran it again, but I got busy and it sat for a couple weeks.
Feeling withdrawal, I drove it a half hour away and back. About 2 miles away from home (and halfway thought a really nice drift) I lost a cyl again. #1 wasn't firing when I got back. I checked and cleaned the plug and the plug well again and still nothing. I replaced the fuel filter this time and swapped in another injector. It seems fine now.
Anyone had this happen? What are the odds I would clog the same injector? I haven't looked at the fuel rail closely to see the flow of the fuel coming and leaving, but is something else causing a clogged injector? If this was one of my Dodges I would just assume this sort of thing was normal, but not my 240.
