Question on 1996 Q45.

I think the front windshield cowl cover has trapped a lot of tree droppings.

Rain water seems to be getting onto the engine and seeping into one of the cylinders.

Is there a drain hole under that cowl cover? Can't tell from service diagrams.
Looks like wipers need to be removed to access it.
Rubber like cowl weather strip needs replacing, but not even available out of Japan, so will get that worked on later.

Cowl drains are usually just holes in the inner fender metal, although a few (like Titans) have tubular plastic inserts. You generally need to pull the cowl cover to see what's there. If the cowl clogs, you'll usually get water coming in through the HVAC box because it overflows into the fresh air inlet.

Have read on here that a defective rubber weatherstrip around the coil or hood area can cause water intrusion from the cowl to the engine bay on the '96 models. It pools around the ignition coils and can cause misfires.
