clock ticking sound

we i put the car in reverse or drive i hear a ticking.one time the car was ticking after i turned it off and everything.on the driver side there was a clock ticking like a bomb sound but couldn't find it any ideas?

Cat heat shields [clicking/popping] or water dripping on exhaust are the first places to look.

Maybe the microwave timer?

it ticks when i the cars cold also.well then is it okay for it to do that?

And it is not running? Check for mice with very small tools.

Theres no mice because it happened when i turn the car off and i dont know how long it stays on.I just realize maybe thats whats killing my battery.
