clock radio on s14

ok i had a bad alt that is replaced now, it blew my headlamps w/o haming fuses? and then my in dash clock numbers don't show up and raido is dead.i pulled the unit and with my fluke checked the harness, this is were it gets weird, my constant bat power is only putting out 6.5 volts i dont get it and if anyone may know of something please help.

Um... WTF!?!

Did someoen put a 6volt battery in there? The reason I ask this is because the voltage of a fully charged 6V battery is ~6.5V

Was this tested with the car on or off?

If off check what I just said.

If on then the alternator's voltage regulator is either screwed up, or somehow you got a 6v model

i tried both on and off. also my acc is giving proper votage 12.5, my bat is a optima yellow top.

Hmm, that's odd.

Is anything else giving you that voltage?

There might be a regulator somewhere in that circuit

About the headlamps. It's possible that they were on their last leg to begin with.

nah cause ase you can see they are s15 headlights brand new out of the box when i got them in nov of 2004.

everything else is working like new. just clock and radio are ****ed up.

ohh well ill just wire the radio up to the bat and see what that gets me. hope i dont explode. lol
