I'm wondering what the deal is that most people have with the clock.
I am having intermittant problems with it but it keeps time fine. Just that some times it will go dark and the clock is not lit. I turn the engine off and trn the key back on and the clock lights back up. I'm wondering if the a/c creates a problem with heating and cooling the solder joints.
My normal daytime temps in the car are easily 140 degrees.
Then turn the ac on and its dropped to about 60 degrees in there.
Any help with this as to what others have experienced ??

You can fix the clock with a bit of soldering. See this thread.

Yes, your clock symptoms should be solved with adding solder to some solder joints. My clock would get dim in the Florida summer heat, and after adding some solder to some resistors' joints, the problem disappeared.

Not sure if its the extreme heat here in the southern california desert or running the ac full out on Hot days which has the clock right in the path of the airstream from behind.
Thanks for the answer. I'll try to pull it soon and solder it.
