clock not working

Are these prone to failure? I puled it out and tested the wires and it is getting power... Can the clocks just burnout? Or is it likely an electrical problem i dont want to spend 30 to buy a new clock when its just a wire

Yes they are prone to malfunction, its due to the battery built in the clock which can't be replaced.
