My clock was working liking a fine Swiss timepiece, but one day I disconnected the battery overnight and the next day, when I connected the battery and went to reset the clock to the correct time, only one hand moved. It was a very cold morning and maybe I should have waited until it warmed up. Now the small hand always points in between two numbers.

Here is my clock showing 10:57a.m.

Is there a fix for this or do I need a new clock?

I thought I had the same problem but as it turned out, I didn't have the little time adjusting knob all the way back in. Might want to double check it.

What exactly do you mean by all the way in? Can it go in only half way or something?

Sounds that way...These are clocks... they happen to be in a car, but they are clocks...15 year old clocks for that matter. If a watch or clock stops working you either replace it or take it to a jeweller.

Everyone buys used to my knowledge since even with Joe's discount it's over $300 (I think) new.

That's exactly it. You can pull the knob out to adjust the time and then push it back in. I didn't have it all the way in and it didn't keep time at all.

Update

I took apart my clock and moved the hour hand and minute hand with my finger carefully and aligned them to the 12:00 o'clock position. Problem resolved. THe clock's working fine now. I'll let you guys know if it stops working or has a problem.

FYI, a slow moving clock can be indicative of a weak/dying battery. Always good to ask "how long have I had that battery?"

What happened to my clock was I tried to adjust the time after disconnecting the battery on a freezing cold day and the minute hand moved but the hour hand only moved a bit and ended up pointing at the wrong spot. It would always point at the wrong spot, until last night. I'll be sure to test it and see if it keeps good time though.

Thanks for the tip.
