So I figured CodeRed posted up his "photoshoot" before I could go and get my film developed and put onto CDs from my Old School Pro Canon AE-1, and well here are the pics I snapped.

Also I remember the mods talking about ROTM, well I would like to nominate myself for ROTM if that is possible?

Please excuse some of the pics, this is my first time using a pro camera in like 5 years, I have not used it in a while, so some of the pics came out kind of blurry, plus I should have used a different film speed for the night pics but ehh I bought a big box hehe. So without further adue, here are my pics!

So there you have it, I hope that you enjoyed seeing those pics. Now I will

myself from everybody who is going to complain for soo many pics! haha but I just couldn't choose as these were all the best ones. Also mods, I think the NissanVersa.org decal pic looks amazing, might be a nice pic for the Versa swag thread, and possibly the main domain page.

Well let me know what you guys think, and be sure to vote!

thanks to the both of you, well the night pics, you have to remember that the exposure was longer, and slight movements effected the pic, and I wasn't using a tripod. If I had a tripod even at the film speed and everything, they then would have been decent and not blurry.

Yea it is a great camera, and still in great condition besides a small crack of the plastic base, although it is in need of a cleaning inside and out. This is really my dads which he bought in the early or mid 80's, and has had it since, and well, I consider all his things mine too, but my things are only mine, and not his!!! HEHE just like the V, he signed for it for me since I am a minor, but it is MINE not HIS!!! lolz

No need to remove your plate. THat's retarded, people can see it on your car, lol.

Not a bad job on the pics, Wayne. I used to shoot with an AE-1 Program (when they were the new and hot item, haha).

A couple tips: No more night shots w/o a tripod. If you don't have one, I'll sell you mine cheap.

ALWAYS have the sun to your back when shooting. You don't want the shadows on the side of the car that you're shooting.

Crop in close - the ones where you shot upclose, with good depth of field, are great (like the one from the rear driver's side).

Lastly, and it has nothing to do with your "skillz", but ditch that horrid plate frame... I bet there's a nice black NISMO frame at one of our sponsors that'd look SWEET on there.

Nice work, man - thanks for sharing those, and keep shooting old-school!

hey thanks for the tops AZhitman, yea my dad and I are train buffs, not me so much anymore, now I am more into cars, haha. But he had showed me basics years ago, and well they have kinda faded away. But yea I will keep that in mind for next time I go out snapping photos. As for the tripod, I know we have when, where it is, who knows, things went everywhere when my parents seperated, so it has been hard to say who took what with the things that are missing.

Yea I don't see why taking off the plate, it will ruin the pic and attract the attention to the missing area! But as for the frames, I was leaving those on until I could afford to get some Black Nismo frames, but they are $40 a piece for the ones I want and $80 I just do not have right now.

So what do you think about ROTM nominee atleast AZhitman??? Be nice to see the new 07 Versa up there, even if it isn't mine, but these are a lot of nice pics of my ride.

Anywho thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Good job! Some of those have really great composition. If you're going to keep taking pictures you may want to invest in a Digital SLR, no need to worry about film speed ever again... Ok, sorry for that sales pitch, I think I may spend a little bit too much time at work, but great job, it makes me want to do a photo shoot of my V.

The reasoning behind it is to fight identity theft. Yes they can see it on your car, but at least if they're close enough to see your car they probably live near you.

With a picture on the internet, someone can use your place too look up your info from anywhere in the world, which is a little creepy to me.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am working on getting one, they are just a heck of a lot of money. I am lucky though as I will get mine at a discount since my uncle works at a camera shop.

Though I have actually had someone stalk me because I posted a pic of my car with the license plate not rubbed out before. They saw my license plate online, saw my car in person one day, and they followed me around for about a month before I figured out what was up.

This was a few years back (it was my Saturn) but it was still quite creepy nonetheless, which is why I personally blur my plate number when I post.

Clipsed - love the pics, but next time if it's more than just a few pictures could you post a few teaser thumbnails and then a pic to an online gallery? Even with my T1 here at work, it took nearly 2 minutes to load all of the pictures.

If you don't mind some constructive criticism from somebody who's done photography for some time...

1) Limit your depth of field. The background being as sharp--or nearly as sharp--as your subject tends to distract. You might want to give it enough detail that you can make it out, but you don't want it to take away from the car.

2) Avoid taking pictures during the middle of the day. The hour before sunset is best; referred to as 'the golden hour' because of the fantastic light qualities during that time.

3) If you shoot during the day, try to shoot at an angle from the sun and use a polarizer.

4) Use a tripod for night shots. Ideally use a remote shutter, but if that fails just use the self timer so that your hands are off the camera when the shutter goes.

thanks a lot ping flood, I will try those out the next time I go and take some photos. Like I said, it has been atleast 5+ years since I last used the camera, so I was getting used to using it and how it works again, since my mom and dad are seperated, he wasn't there to instruct me on what I should do.

Thanks for the criticism, it is much appreciated!

please forgive a Versa noob.. but your car looks like a stock Versa to me. What have you done to it that you feel makes it ROTM worthy? I like the foglights, and the Versa.org decal is freaking sweet! But what else have you done to the car?

Not much, just my custom system, but hey ROTM shouldn't just be because you have mods, it should be because you have a darn nice looking car and pics to back that up. The Versa is new, and people really have little to nothing done to it, and honestly I don't care if I do get ROTM, it could be another Versa, I just want to see a Versa on the ROTM page, because I hate seeing all the 240s and Z's and all that which are the majority of cars on there! And if I do get ROTM, by the time I get it, I will have my custom one off mod done to the Versa which will then set it off, and apart from the rest.

Mind you, his fogs were an install from scratch. Nissan did not have OEM fogs availale at that time.

And he's got at least one completely custom mod currently in the works.

That's cool! That's why i admitted being a noob to Versa's to start off.

I'm not trying to put down the car.. it's very sharp. I agree with Clipsed that it would be nice to see a Versa get some ROTM attention.

I also agree that you a nice clean car shouldn't take a back seat to a wildly modded car. One of the coolest things about NICO is the fact that many of us do really appreciate a clean tasteful (sometimes stock) car.

On the other hand.. I need to see something special to think a car is ROTM material.. You shouldn't be able to walk into a dealership and drive out with your new car and get a ROTM award (unless you get the first new GTR of course.. lol).

Let's see some pics of that system when you get it all set up!

yea my set-up pics will get posted soon when I get my box wrapped, I am finishing the sanding, and hopefully I get the money to wrap it soon, the material is damn expensive though that I am using. Then get it mounted permanently, well semi that is, box will be removable, and I am finished. My car is definently NOT stock off of the lot. I am currently working on custom headlights with HID's and a custom eyelid and lighted eyebrow with custom LEDs incorporated also.

Here is my design concept/mockup

A lot is getting incorporated into these HIDs, you can see the ones that come stock in Japan, well these I am 99% sure will be way better. I am also incorporating a motor to attach to the projectors and a button inside the car where I can adjust the aiming height of the light too. In total this is going to end up costing me about $1000 and that is the reason I have no performance mods done to my car.

After that I will be doing a custom LED array in the rear tail lights for the park/brake lamps, the turn signals, and the reverse lights. I will also do a custom license plate LED array that will be much brighter than the ones you buy and plug and play.

I will also be incorporating a amber reflector with a custom LED board behind it in the front bumper and cover the one in the headlights with the fiberglass eyebrow I am going to remake.

Here are some pics of that project

Then after that I will be doing custom LEDs in the interior for every interior light, the dash gauge lighting will be changed to bright white along with the climate controls and window switches.

But at 17, this is a lot of custom work for myself, and a whole heck of a lot of money. Slowly but surely, I will get it all done. But that is basically what is happening with my Versa. A lot of completely custom one-off work. I go more the route of doing something myself rather than buying something pre-fabbed. I am sure down the road I will end up designing my own wide-body kit, but I don't even want to think about that right now! HAHA
