I'm wondering what did you guys used to unload the clip off the freight trucks that deliver clips to your house?

the freight company should come with a pallet jack and a hydraullic rear lift gate to get it down.

mine almost fell off the back of the truck. it sucked.

Thats what happened to me. We had everything ready to go, we paid extra for a truck with a lift gate, then they called us and asked us if we had a forklift. So were gonna have to rent one. But the guys at ARD refunded the extra $ for the lift gate. So not that big of a deal just somthin you gotta deal with.

LOL you shoulda seen my delima! ...

truck gets there, has a lift gate on it, ok good right. BUT my garage is behind my house with access via a small alley. So no truck going back there!

So we hook up the trailer and pull it back up against the truck, they drop the liftgate with the clip down and we PULL the entire thing as far as we can onto the top of the trailer (on the rails, lol) ... so it wouldn't go all the way ...

and heres what we decided was genious! Back the truck with the liftage at the same level as the bottom crate and PUSH it further onto the trailer... worked like a charm ;) nice *** shipping guy , most would not have gone through that without extra charge i dont think... (central freight lines is the co)

we just got it off the trailer after about a week and a half and now its sitting on jackstands nice and sturdy thank god. that crate was falling apart.

anyways, the moral of the story is, you'll find a way ;)

I always tell the delievery company to store it in their warehouse till I pick it up. Because EVERY time I get something on a pallet, they don't have any way to unload it. Some shipping companies suck like that.

EDIT: They actually use fork lifts to help me load it up when I pick it up.

I had it sent to a junkyard I know who has a forklift. They loaded it onto a flat bed tow truck and brought it to me that way. I guess I gota little spoiled working in a bodyshop.

i had mine shipped to where my dad works, since they had a proper loading dock and forklift. Then we put it on a flatbed trailer and brought it home. Now here is the fun part. We put ropes on the trailer and used a tractor to pull it almost off the edge of the trailer. Then I used the motor hoist I borrowed to get the motor off. fun..fun..

GI trucking, your local facility should have the proper equipment to make it work.

hardest part was getting it on the lift gate we couldnt get it to aling properly for ****, thats why it almost fell. the pallet jack was all we needed to get it into the garage.

wow... i guess shipping clips is the better thing to do... in my case, I, a cheap ***, decided to pick up the clip from venus and take it home ourselves on an old 72 Ford truck, i don't even know what it is... anyways... long story short, stopped by harbor freight to pick up an engine hoist and balencer, went home, assembled the engine hoist, back the truck into the garage, connected the hoist to the clip, lifted it 3 inches and drove the truck out of the garage with the clip suspended in air... then the other tricky part was getting it from one side of the garage to the other (we unloaded in the wrong spot)... that was fun... :D

Just make sure to ask for pictures of them before you buy.. only way to really tell what condition they are in.
