Hi experts,

Just recently I found when I change the temperature, say from 70F to 75F, it sometimes goes up and back down a bit then up, like 70-71-72-73-74-72-73-74-75. Also If I go all the way to 85 and continue to dial, it will go down to like 83 then 84-85. Does not happen every time but happens often. The actual temperature is just fine which I can feel. Therefore, I can live with that. It'll be nice if there is a quick diagnosis and a cheat fix.

Thank you and have a great Memorial weekend.

I've never heard of that, but off the cuff I'm betting the potentiometer behind the temperature dial is going bad. The same thing happened to the volume control on an old stereo receiver I used to have. It started out skipping around sometimes and then eventually would only lower the volume regardless of which way I turned it. You have this style of climate control, right?

If so you can try soldering a new potentiometer on, but you'll have to track down a replacement. Otherwise climate controls aren't too hard to come by on eBay.

If you have the style built into the navigation unit, I'm betting the climate control unit is bad. It's a black cigarette pack-sized unit that's mounted to the floor behind the navigation. Sadly they're much harder to come by :frown:

Yes, I have the same style. It didn't happen at all today when I drove about 80 miles and played with AC on and off, temp up and down. I would wait to see if that happens more often.

Thanks for the reply atraudes.
