My 96 Q45 climate control system is malfunctioning. The fan will not turn off even when turned off. It will maintain the tempurature if it is hot outside, but will not heat. The A/C function works great, as well as always even when in Econ or Off. The manual control of the fan, and the fan indicator do not work accuratley. The blower doors (vent or heat) turn to heat when the climate control is turned off. If it were a computer I would run a virus checker on it. Although probably not relavent the ambient tempurature is reading accurately. Anybody have any ideas?ThanksScott

The fan control is probably a bad resistor (located on the evaporator box behind the glove compartment. Maybe it's throwing everything else off? Have you run the self diagnostics yet? Do you have the service manual? If not I'd go to http://www.infiniti-techinfo.com, purchase the 1 day viewing subscription and I've been told you can download it as a .pdf file.

The manual is available (by a diligent search of the links) at http://www.nissantech-info.com/infiniti .

A one day subscription should allow you to get everything in a hour or so with cable or DSL. Don't forget the TSB.

My AMB button for Ambient temp doesn't seem to be functioning properly all the time. Either its right on or completely off. Any of you had this problem on a J30?

I downloaded the service manual for the car and ran the climate control diagnostics on it and it showed a number 25 (sunsensor out) error. I disconnected the battery and ran the self diagnostices again and it does not show any error codes and continues to malfunction. I have not been under the dash to test the sunsensor. The fan switch works for dianostic purposes, but is not coordinated with what the indicator shows. From what I have read, it appears the auto amplifier may be the problem. Anybody else have any other ideas?ThanksScott
