Climate Controls in 2014 Rogue Select

I have a 2014 Rogue Select. I noticed this winter that when I have the defroster on and then switch it to the floor vent or the upper vent or the combo, the AC switches on. Is this normal? I have never seen this in any other vehicle I have had.

Yes, that's normal on almost all newer model cars. It's designed that way to remove moister/condensation from the glass.
