I was looking on ebay and saw a digital climate control from a 95-96 maxima for sale for $30. I want to get one of those but is it a direct fit or is the wiring different from the analog controls?

Unfortunately, there's more to it than just swapping out the control module. The digital climate control system requires a few different sensors and motors that are missing in you manual climate control car. The swap can be done, but it's fairly involved. There's a fan speed controller, a sunload sensor, a motor assembly to operate the mix doors, and temperature sensors, plus other things to swap out.

But if you're still interested in doing the swap, here's an an article for the procedure in a 240sx. The Maxima will be essentially the same, minus the harness portions, and you won't need to look to Japan for parts.zerothread?id=160285

Honestly, I'm not particularly fond of my Q's climate control (different controller, but same era and the rest of the parts are the same). It's actually very poor at maintaining a constant cabin temperature and has the very annoying habit of running the A/C compressor at ALL TIMES in Auto mode. Knowing that, I wouldn't put the effort into the swap myself.
