climate control......VENT operation

I have 2014 Rogue with climate control....ALL I want to do is be able to use "vent" and fan.....just simply blow the outside air into the cabin....NO a/c NO heat....why does the AC run even when it's NOT turned on? what is the purpose of an AC on/off switch if there is NO way to run vents without freezing cold air coming out? ....I want my old car back!

I know what you mean - I feel it's hard to regulate - my previous car was an 08 Maxima with Climate Control and it seems the manual advised always running the ac. However, you could definitely turn the AC on and off - and also the fan would speed up/slow down as you adjusted the temperature control. I feel like this unit is not very automatic...

I feel the opposite with this Rogue....it's TOO automatic! No matter what is turned off, AC or Auto, the AC STILL turns itself ON if the temp is set low! I set the temp low to keep the heat from coming on, I don't have it on AC or Auto, and yet it insists on turning on the AC....I WANT the OUTSIDE air at it's temp to simply blow in through the vents JUST like EVERY car I've ever owned did....seems too much to ask now!

I'm taking my 2014 SV in for AC repairs for the 2nd time in my first year of owning. The fan spools up, but no cold air.

funny you should mention the fan not blowing.....that is a secondary problem I'm having which I have to convince the dealer is a PROBLEM!.....I've had mine to the dealer a few times too

I had to take a video on my phone of it spooling up to full speed and then cutting out before ramping back up to full speed. Nothing like video with audio evidence of the problem. Unfortunately, you can't do that with the cool air except maybe a video of a thermometer stuck in the vent?

edogyip...did they repair the fan problem...I showed them the video I took of mine NOT blowing and they said they have to duplicate the problem to fix it...what the heck?....and if they fixed yours, do you know what they did to it?

They did fix the blower problem. Something to the effect of a wire wasn't connected properly. I will ask them next week when I take my car back to get that pesky passenger door lock/window control cover replaced. As for the AC not cooling, they couldn't find anything wrong with it, and it hasn't acted up in days.

thank you....I finally insisted on getting my Rogue back today...after 3 days they did nothing...say they are waiting for Nissan to tell them what to do...
