I apologize for being a noob but this is my first time on here so I'm still getting the hang of it. I have a 1990 auto 300zx that I just bought a few weeks ago but since I bought it the climate control pod is kinda temperamental, it will turn on and work with the key turned to the accessory position but after running for a few sec it will completely shut off and seems to loose power. It will then turn back on if you are coming to a stop after driving but turn back off when you start acelterating. My tachometer has also been kinda wacko lately too, it will skip around sometimes and sometimes works. I'm thinking it may be a loose ground but I'm really at a loss right now. Plus it getting hard to drive with no heat in the 30 degree weather. Thanks for any input

sounds like a loose ground to me. Pull the pod and make sure all connections are good and tight. crawl under the dash and look up. Im not sure exactly where its main ground is, but Im sure someone else will chime in with that info.

As to the Tach... Yea, i got no idea there.

Agreed with the ground theory, and as for locations and such the fsm in the everything you need to know sticky will be your best friend.
Download that and keep it bookmarked, and I've also copy/pasted word docs from it and other how-to's for the various jobs I've done to have that info should I have a return visit...easy to do, and especially helpful for those of us who get another Z32 and don't remember everything as clearly as we once did!

Is it a digital control or manual one? It might be the heating resistor as far as the CC
