'90 Q45

I can't get the climate control to turn on the A/C, or blow air through the air ducts.

Trying to fix a friends car.The climate control worked the way it should then it would work on and off. Then for the past year it hasn't worked at all.

When I started working on the car the climate control display didn't light up. The only thing that work was the defroster. I replace the climate control with a junk yard one. It does the same thing as the original one but this one the display works.

The blower motor works but I can't get it to blow through the vents.

The display failure is typical, but the other part is not. It sounds like you have a bad door actuator...

If you don't have the factory service manaul for the '90 Q (all of them had one in the compartment between the rear speakers) you can download the FSM for the '94 at http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/ to put it in the self test mode and see what that tells you.

Good luck!

I took the blower motor out and that door works. The air door control flap move went i select defroster, and the blower motor turns on.

When I select another position the blower motor turns off and the flap moves back to the original position.

I never checked the A/C system for freon but would that effect the climate control?

Refrigerant charge won't cause the climate controller and actuators to work differently. Try the self test to see what code(s) it gives you.
