Definitely sounds like your cars thermostat. If it does it again, take a look at your coolant temp gauge, see if its lower than normal operating temp.RaelOM wrote:So last night on my way home from class, I hit traffic and was at a 2mph crawl and the climate control went from 72 degree's and heat to pumping out COLD air. I tried turnign off the AC, then the system, then the car, none of it worked.
Eventually I was able to hit a turn around in the highway and got out of the traffic and as soon as I accelerated significantly the heat came back on?
What gives? That obviously can't be normal.
I did look at my engine temp thinking it could be the t-stat (Which it still could be) and the gauge was where I expected it to be.ArbitrageMan wrote:

When I lived in Buffalo, I had an issue on a car where the car would be warm driving, but as soon as I slowed down or stopped, where the car wasnt producing power, the warm air would turn to cold.
My tech just told me the same exact thing. So hopefully that is it.Excellent09 wrote:A month ago i have experience the same thing with my 06 M35x,I took it in to the dealer and they performed a radiator flush(bleed the system) I was told it happen because i had an air pocket in the radiator
What I want to know is, how in the he11 does an air pocket just form up out of the blue???? I've never had cars that had coolant issues. I mean, you guys are changing the coolant out at 30K mi intervals! What's the deal? Maybe those intervals are too soon. I have always done 60-75K mi intervals for coolant flushes on my previous vehicles without a hitch. Is it really imperative to change the coolant out at 30K mi?Excellent09 wrote:A month ago i have experience the same thing with my 06 M35x,I took it in to the dealer and they performed a radiator flush(bleed the system) I was told it happen because i had an air pocket in the radiator
