Climate Control Issues!!!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Just wondering what everyone experience has been with the dual climate control. Not matter what I set it at the car gets BOILING hot after about 10 minutes.

Example...it was about 30 degrees yesterday i had the passengers set at 66 and driver set at 68 andit got BOILING hot..i lowered it to 67 no difference.

Whats the point of having vliamte control if you have to keep turning it on and off?

I am having no issue with temp control. Its about 70F average here I think the problem is coming from the weather in your area, not the car itself, if your temp setting is set on 67F when the outside temp is 30F. car will send out boiling hot air to cover the 37 degrees different, i guess EX does not have interior temp gauge to determine the interior temperature.

The EX actually has a pretty advanced climate control system is used three difference temperature sensors. One is in the front bumper, one in the intake of the a/c unit and one inside the cabin.

The system will come on initially should come on a little high initially (once the temperature is up) to start to heat/cool the cabin then it will adapt the output temperature to keep the in-cabin temperature as close to the set temperature as it can.

I have to ask what your definition of "boiling" is, not that I am saying you are wrong, it's just that with the setting at 90*F (32C) the output temperature at idle should be around 135-145*F(57-62C) and is considered MAX. Given the fact that the interior temperature is most likely colder than the ambient temperature after a long cold soak, it may feel very warm. Try taking a thermometer from your kitchen/grill and putting it in the vents to see what the outlet temperature(make sure it is set to face) is.

Here is a few pictures of the dual climate control in full function.

Sorry for the poor quality, old cell phone camera.

This is great info but im still a laittle confused. Today, it is about 17 outside. I have my side set to 67 and the other side set to 66. By the time I got into work (20 minutes) i was literally sweating!

I've got to be honest with you I took those pictures in an '07 G35 sedan with Tech and Nav. The wood grain is standard on most Gs I personally do not like it as much as the Wasabi paper finish. Bellow are a few pics from my collection, the wood grain M is the only wood type I could find. Next time (when the weather gets above freezing) I take my camera to work I will get a few pics of the various models' with various wood and trim levels if you are interested, and I get some free time.

This may sound dumb, but did you make sure the heated seat switch is turned off? Also, as Punjab said, make sure the Auto light is on. There are several different indicator lights on the climate control panel, it gets confusing.

Along these same lines, it's currently between 40-64 here in Houston, TX. For some reason, when not set to auto (even worse with it set to auto), I can't get cold air to blow out of the vents until it's set to 61, and at that point it's blowing freezing air. Anything above 61 feels somewhat warm, then it shoots to freezing at 61. It is colder here over the past week than what it has been, but this seems very odd. There has got to be a way to blow cold air without it being set to 61. Anyone else have this issue, or have any suggestions?

yes i definitly have it set on auto! I did realize something though....every time i put it in auto, i would shut the AC off (which comes on automatically under auto) while this still kept the system in auto....i think this caused the problem.

I now leave the AC on and it keeps the car perfect!

Does this sound correct to everyone?

Actually I take it back...its still excrutiatingly hot....except that now it takes 10 minutes isntead of 5 to get that hot. Today it was about 30 degrees outside and i had the Temp set to 68 on both sides...i was boiling.
