So as some of you may know I sent my climate control display to Jerry Tucker to get fixed about 2 yrs ago. Last fall it started to become intermittent, a tap on the dash would light it up again. Lately if the panel would shut off the whole thing would die, nothing worked. This afternoon after searching the forums for a fix, I thought I would take the dash apart again just to look.Nice cool garage, I figured it would work just to screw me.It didn't work, yippee, remove the cover, etc. when I unscrewed the last screw it suddenly came on, if I barely moved it -on and off. Put all the screws in sometimes it works others not. Seemed like a connector, so I put some OX-GARD onto the pins with a small brush, just a thin film or it could cause shorts. OX-Gard is an antioxidant compound for AL to Copper joints or AL to AL electrical joints, (if your remote control gets funny put this between the contacts -just a thin film) the tube claims to "penetrate aluminum oxides to maintain to maintain inter-strand and interconductive current paths." No matter what I do to the display now it won't shut off. I realize only time will tell but thought I would pass this along since it really seemed to be the connectors on mine. I hope it was.
