climate control box question!!!

so i need to get a new climate control box because the resistor or switch is bad. but when i went to swap a friends over to see if that was that problem. i ran in to one little conflict. were the the switch is for the hot and cold adjustment is that cable coming out of it. i dont want to just cut it.

so my question is... how do i get the box out without destroying that cable. is there an easier way???
