I have a 95sx. I do most of my own engine work, however electrical I seem to suck at.Recently, my climate control adjustment is giving me hell. My 1-3 settings do not work at all, however my 4 (high fan) works. Im tryin to figure out how I can fix this before I absolutly have nothing at all.

Any input is appreciated.

The problem is common among all cars. I have never had it in a 240, but I have experienced it in a few other cars I have owned.

The resistance board has gone bad. I am not sure if it is in the switches, or in the fan, or somewhere inline on its own. Basically, what happens is over time the resistor for each position burns out, slowly making each of your fan setting not work. Starts with 1 and the 2 and then 3, since 4 has no resistance, the circuit works just fine. So if you can locate that resistor board, replace it and your problem is solved. Good luck!

Since 1-3 isn't working, I'm going to venture to guess your issue lies with the inline resistor. To vary the voltage, Nissan uses an inline resistor on the circuits for 1, 2, and 3. 4 bypasses the resistor and directly affects the blower motor.

From looking at the circuit diagram (I haven't actually pulled the resistor out personally) it has an internal fuse that can pop, so that may have been the reason it went down. The resistor itself is located up next to the blower motor. The wire should be branched off the harness that plugs into the motor and it should have 4 wires going into it (Blue, Blue/Black, Blue/Yellow, and Blue/red)

Thanks much, I will def have to look into that when I pull it in the garage Wednesday. Ill see about pricing out a new board and then going from there.
