I know this forum is pretty much specific to audio but I thought I'd ask anyways. When I bought my car it came with a Clifford alarm with remote start. I love the system, especially the remote start (it's so cool to have it on a 5 speed). The problem is, the alarm is incredibly sensitive. Any loud exhaust will set it off, and having to park my car where I do when I'm at work, right on the main street, my alarm gets set off at least once a night. Does anyone know how to turn down the sensitivity of my alarm? There's a small box right above my left leg that runs the system, but it doesn't have any way that I can tell to turn it down.

There should be a little sensor hidden somewhere that you can adjust, it's called a shock sensor and has a little hole where you'll find a place for a small commons screw driver (flat head). That's for adjusting sensitivity. Sorry if I'm not too clear, I installed my Viper 791vx and it has the remote start on my 5-speed too and it's got that small box (shock sensor) thingee that I can adjust. According to a lot of people clifford and viper is almost the same.

actually, i know with my clifford, u have to adjust it through a special process; if u d/l the instructions off the website, it will say to put the alarm into a special mode, and then you bang on the a pillar to lower the sensitivity. hope this helps

My alarm's a clifford matrix, and I think there are a couple diff. versions of it though.

Cliffords are evil. way too complicated. my internals burnt up due to alot of battery jumping and it has errors sometimes now. EVIL. honestly, the former owner got sick of the sensors setting it off at night so he cut the wire to the horn or w/e and the car wouldnt start!!!

Matrix.?@ what model matrix? I can help if you let me know. The matrix series are the same or most similiar to the DEI architecture compared to other clifford alarms. Some sensors have an adjustment pod on the side often times there is also an LED that lights up when when the sensitivty threshold has been reached. Very useful for testing! turning the pod counter clockwise decreases the sensitivty, while the other direction increases it. Other sensors can be programmed using a remote control, and the omni sensor is even more difficult to set up, but likely you don't have this type of clifford sensor.
