Cliff Wilson (aka kilipo4) Scholarship Endowment

Hello folks:

You do not know me, and I do not know you, and this will be my only post on your forums. But I am just informing you all about the Cliff Wilson Scholarship Endowment set up by his father. As some of you may know, Cliff was killed about a month ago in a car crash and he was a member of your community as well.

I am a member of another community that Cliff was a member of, that being Fark.com. There was a message notifying us about the Cliff Wilson Scholarship Endowment, with a link to PayPal. I did submit US$20, and at the end it is set up by d*** (I can't believe you censor that name) Wilson, so it's cool. If you can spare anything, please do. So it just means you don't buy that little tweak for your car this month, instead the money is going towards remembering a young man who died so tragically.

Please donate what you can. I have no affiliation with the Wilsons or PayPal. I just figured that this can be my daily good deed.

Hey people.

I received an update letter from D!ick Wilson again. Here it is.

"Thank you for your kind and generous donation to Cliff's scholarship endowment. I appologize for the tardiness of this note. FYI: $2199.61 is the present balance in paypal only. Many other Farkers sent money directly to the college. Please know how much we appreciate you and the entire Fark community. Sincerely,d*** Wilson"

He also posted this on the net.

"Dear Friends and Farkers:

Got a call from Cliff's college (Texas Tech) where we set up the scholarship endowment in his name. The college had never received donations related to a web site before this week. Told them they had obviously never had anything to do with Fark.com. I was told that for the last two days the (snail) mailbox set up for this account has been filled with donations from all over the country. They have received checks in amounts from $5 to $500 dollars. Over half have had a note that the donor is a Farker, mostly on the outside of the envelope.

Well, Kleenex stock will probably go up another coupla points cause that news started my wife and I up again.

I have gotten many requests to set up a PayPal account for donations. Not being real good with computers, I finally got it done.

Drew, thanks for all that you and the Fark community have done for our family and the memory of an avid Farker. I also want to mention that after his funeral services, in true Fark fashion, Cliff's friends held a memorial lunch for him at Hooter's. I will keep y'all posted.
