I have an 89 240 SX and when I floor it, it makes this weird clicking noise. Does anyone know what this is?,

Thanks,

Sounds like bb's hitting a coffee can? If so, that's mild knocking. Try using 91 or 93 octane.

Sounds like exhaust leak? Does the problem persist after the car heats up? Check where the manifold bolts up to the block I've noticed most Ka's ive had are usually missing some of these bolts causing exhaust leaks. If the sounds stop after the engine warms up probably cause its hot enough that the metal expands and closes the leak. That's my best guess. If not might be ticking lifters or sticky valves. Various things, but should just go around checking everything is bolted on oil level is good and clean and all that stuff.

BB's in a coffee can? It might be detonating.
