rear struts could be bad. Push down on the car and see how fast it bounces. If it continues to bounce then they are bad. Good struts shouldn't bounce alot. Should have a kinda firm feeling.

i know the bushing is almost gone on that side and getting it replaced along with kyb agx's all around. but ive still have to drive it on a daily basis which consists of some very tempting mountain roads for at least another week and a half. im guessing that this is screwing up the shock mount right? does anybody know what those run for and if there are aftermarket urethane bushings for that part? im still slowly sifting through all the forums trying to learn as much as i can about the 240 suspension.

I have a clunking noise coming from my RR shock also. The noise gets worse as the shock get warmer (hard driving or warm weather).

If you remove the trim covering the shock mounts in the trunk and remove the rubber cap, you can put a finger on the top of the strut rod and feel the clunking by bouncing the car.

This is a know problem at Nissan (I forgot where I read it) and the only solution is to replace the shock. I haven't noticed any detrimental effects other than the noise so I leave it be.
