I purchased a new 2015 Rogue SV AWD today and after driving out of the dealer and sitting in the car in silence while running I heard a clicking sound coming from the drivers side dashboard. The click is very subtle can be heard even from the passenger side which my wife confirmed if no fans or music are on. It sound like 2 clicks that happen every 5-7 seconds and will repeat as long as the car is running. Does not matter if the car is being driven, in idle, windows are open or blinkers are being used the double click every 5-7 seconds keep happening. i have turned off the car and back on several times and the clicks are there.

The closest examples I can think of to explain it are 2 subtle pen clicks. Its concerning as this seems like where all the computer components are located around the steering wheel area and the car only has 27 miles so far.

Has anyone experienced this problem or is this something that is known in all Rogues?

Did you check to see if the rear wiper was on intermittent? It will make that clicking noise at exactly the location you are describing. Not sure of the timing interval between wipes, though, it could be longer than the 5-7 seconds you are describing.

yes thats what it was thank you. So strange why a click sound would have to be audible when using the rear wipers.

do you also have a rogue 2015 or was this sound present in previous models?

Hi, Yup a little worried but...... Yup it's the normal relais noise. Kinda a old school to still be using them. As today there's totally noise less models.

Ohhh well is what it is !

I have a 2014, but this is my 4th Rogue (all company vehicles each with over 100K). I don't recall if the previous cars before the major 2014 change did this as well. I don't think they did.

Rent the movie "Flash of Genius." It'll teach you everything you ever wanted to know about windshield wiper relays and delay switches.

That stuff doesn't work well for wipers. Isopropyl alcohol works best for wipers to remove grease. Since you are using dish soap that reminds another trick on the side for the hand soap. Mix a touch of dish soap with touch of hand sanitizer and add some water. You will get so much of a hand soap that will cost you about $.03 per bottle that cost about $1.99 at walmart. That soap will be good to wash a car as well.

I encountered a similar problem today and figured out it was the back windshield wiper. So weird my 2012 didn't do this.
