Good morning to all you fellow nico brothers, how is everyone this morning? I have something i have not figured out yet on my Q ,ive been wanting to ask about it for a while,anyway......here goes! when my key is turned all the way foward in on posistion there is a constant clicking sound, it doesnt stop until the key is turned back off. Dont know if it does it when car is running or not because car has never been cranked before. Just finishing everything up after installing rebuilt transmission and motor, have a couple things left to do before i can crank her. But the clicking has really got me curious!!! thanks for any help

Is it a clicking or more of an electronic buzzing??? sort of like a really fast "fluttering" of something? not very loud either.

If thats the case, I wouldnt worry about it, if we're talking about the same thing. I have that on my Q and its especially noticable when the battery is low.

DOES yours do it when the key is on before you start it? Does it stop after cranking car? Did you ever figure out what it was! I cant really say its a buzzing sound its a steady clicking sound ,im assuming its something electronic because it doesnt start until key is in on posistion.Im going to crawl under car and see if i can put my hand on transmission and pin-point where the clicking is coming from.. thanks wes. Q45 TECH, do you have any thoughts on the matter,or idea of what it could be! thanks

I crawled under car to see what i could hear.i put my hand on transmission.......but couldnt feel anything so as best as i can tell from listening with ear close to transmission,it sounds like its in transmission pan area. What is in there that could be clicking when power is turned on to it?? i unpluged the main transmission harness(harness coming off pass. side of motor,by starter,in that area, where it plugs into transmission harness by bell housing) just to see if that affected it, but no change, still clicking. help me please!! anything to worry about? thing it will go away when transmission pan is full of fluid? i havent put fluid in transmission after new rebuild yet. thanks for any help or suggestions guys!!!!!

Perhaps it's the transmission pump priming? Maybe it's never been heard because it's usually submerged in oil? Idk, I'm guessing at this point.
