When I first got my car (used, but great condition) I could hear a slight clicking sound coming from the rear of the vehicle when I come out of park. But now as I have driven it more, the clicking sound is not only louder but also there are a couple more clicks. The noise also happens now when I change from park to reverse, park to drive, drive to reverse, or reverse to drive. I can also hear the noise when I first start moving from a stop, not just going into drive. The noise is kinda hard to describe, it is just 4 or 5 fast clicks. The clicking noise is kinda high pitch, about 3kHz in frequency. It is definitely coming from the rear of the car.

Does anyone have an idea of what this noise could be? I can record the noise, but have no where to upload it. So I guess if you want to hear it, send me a PM with your email and I can email you the sound clip.

yeah it sounds just like the clicking the G35s had. There was actually a tsb on it. If its still under warranty take it in!

ok so I went to the dealership yesterday and they took a look at the car. It is indeed a problem with the rear axel. The problem technically isnt under warranty because it isnt broken, and supposedly it isnt going to cause a mechanical failure. But Riverside Infiniti is awesome and the guy said that the dealership will fix the problem anyway, and they will do it for free. They waived the normal $120 diagnosis fee for taking a look at the car, and they waived the cost of repairs ($331). Plus they gave me the standard loaner car for free (G37 sedan) while they work on the car.

Is this kind of service normal for Infiniti, or is Riverside Infiniti just the nicest dealership ever?

Most good Infiniti dealers will treat you right.

But, there are exceptions unfortunately.
